Master Higa and his school participated in the "Karate and Martial Arts Exchange Festival" at the 3rd Worldwide Uchinanchu Festival "Budo-Kan", Naha, Okinawa. There, he was honored as the Okinawan Government named him Karate Good Will Ambassador to the United States.

Students enrolled in Master Higa's Okinawa Kenpo Karate School are required to attend at least one "Mandatory" Kumite Workshop per month. At Kumite Workshops, students are taught specific skills, their application in real fighting, and then get to apply those skills in actual fighting.
